Nicco Montaño has had a rough go of things as of late, sadly she has another obstacle to overcome in the form of an “attack” she is the victim of. She revealed that she was recently a victim of a violent assault and recounted the trauma on Instagram in a now-deleted post on the social media platform.
According to Nicco Montaño‘s Instagram stories from December 1, 2021, the former and inaugural UFC women’s flyweight champion claims she was involved in an altercation with Justin Watson.
Watson, himself an MMA fighter, with a record of 0-1 according to Tapology.
Montaño alleges in the post that Justin Watson stepped on her neck, stomped her face, and kicked her repeatedly. She attempted to run away but Nicco Montaño claims she ran down the hall screaming for her life until Watson began dragging her back by her hair. Following the screams for help, a naked Montaño maintains that a bystander heard her wails and came to her rescue.
The following are quotes from a now-deleted post from the Instagram of Nicco Montaño.
“Tonight Justin Watson stood on my neck and stomped my face in then kept kicking me and shoving my hair into his fist and the corner of the bed frame. I got away for a second to run down the hall (naked) screaming for my life as he tried to drag me back by my hair. Luckily someone from the hotel heard my screams and came to my rescue. I’m stuck in Texas, not knowing where he is and scared.”
Montaño then went on to explain her current situation as well.
“I’m in the hospital and I’m so lucky to have the technique and strength that I have to have defended myself. Montaño said. I’m doing okay everyone. Thanks for the love.”
Nicco Montaño has a UFC record of 4-2 with her last fight being a loss to current top contender Juliana Pena. She has been looking to get back into the octagon for some time, having a reported six fights scheduled and cancelled, so hopefully, this doesn’t make her lose her resolve for getting back into the sport.
